Giving a Voice to Photographers and Video-makers from the Ukraine
COLORS OF UKRAINE:
As Ukraine is fighting for independence and freedom, for its European future and democratic values, Ukrainians are becoming more concious about the symbols of their country’s statehood. Russian speakers refuse to speak Russian. People sing the national anthem in the street and on underground trains. The yellow and blue of Ukraine’s national flag, the colors of traditional Ukrainian costume, the red stars of the country’s Soviet past become powerful weapons in the war of ideologies — and conspicuous elements of the landscape.
